Schaltbau is a founding member of the Open Direct Current Alliance (ODCA)

ODCA

On November 3rd, 2022, the ZVEI founded the Open Direct Current Alliance (ODCA) with 33 companies from industry, universities and research. The ODCA follows on the successful research project DCINDUSTRIE2 and aims to set up a direct current ecosystem worldwide and establish direct current technology across all applications.

Schaltbau is one of the few DC experts in the world with decades of expertise.

„With the NExT Factory and the integrated DC Microgrid (NExT DC), we have already gained valuable practical experience and will make a substantial contribution to the ODCA. NExT DC stands for state-of-the-art energy supply in production facilities and commercial buildings. We see ourselves as trendsetters in industrial applications and show what potential a direct current network has in real life, apart from projects.” Dr. Jürgen Brandes, CEO Schaltbau.
